A second rest day for the riders and for me. Coincidentally that’s good, as I currently have no wifi connection, which is rendering my tour following and blogging very hard.
I missed the whole of stage 16 and have been forced to read a review on my Blackberry. Seems like I missed a great stage, especially as Froome is complaining that other teams are riding too aggressively? He used the terms “desperate” and “un calculated risks” My caveat is I haven’t seen the stage, but given how well Foome is climbing, putting him in difficulty on the descents has to be a legitimate tactic – after all, look at Wiggins at the Giro. His descending was so shocking it would have been an easy way to win.
It seems that the pressure has maintained on the doping questions. I think Brailsford has got it right here – hand over the data to UKADA for comment. There is no reason to share it with Journo’s, no good will come of that. However a statement from the doping agency will go a long way.
